The Lead Analyst, AML Compliance, supports Western Union's regulatory compliance obligations across Canada, including licensing, registration, and AML requirements for Money Services Businesses. Location: Remote (Canada)
Salary: $90,000–$100,000 CAD/yr
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead licensing and registration requests in Canada.
- Maintain a centralized record of licenses, registrations, and correspondence.
- Manage relationships with regulators and business partners.
- Ensure consistency in regulatory communications and submissions.
- Review and validate contributions from subject matter experts.
- Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
- Conduct legal and regulatory research to assess licensing applicability.
- Review financial and transactional data for accuracy and compliance.
- Collect and maintain sensitive company and officer information for regulatory filings.
- Coordinate regulatory notices, updates, and disclosures.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in licensing, regulatory supervision, or regulatory inspections in the financial sector.
- At least 5 years of experience in financial services, payments, or legal compliance with AML focus.
- Knowledge of financial products and services for individuals and businesses.
- Understanding of AML laws and federal/provincial regulations for money transmission.
- Experience in managing regulatory licenses is an asset.
- Paralegal certification or legal research experience is an asset.
- CAMS or CFCS certification is an asset.
- Ability to work with multiple systems and platforms.
- Fluent in French and English.
