Audit Manager Not-for-Profit

BerryDunn is seeking an Audit Manager to join their Not-for-Profit Practice Group, leading engagement services for social service agencies, educational institutions, housing, and other nonprofits. The role involves managing audits, reviews, consulting, and business development, reporting to senior management.

Location: Multiple locations including Manchester, NH, Waltham, MA, Portland, ME, New Haven, CT, Bangor, ME, or remote.

Salary: $105,000 - $120,000/yr, with potential discretionary bonus.

Responsibilities

• Manage, direct, and monitor multiple client engagements, including scheduling and staffing.
• Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations and satisfaction.
• Consult with clients on business and process improvements, serving as a business advisor.
• Work with principals and senior managers on proposals and business development.
• Assist with and/or participate in board presentations.
• Understand and manage firm risk on audits and proposals.
• Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff, and assess performance.
• Participate in recruiting talent.
• Attend professional development, networking events, and training seminars.
• Perform Uniform Guidance Compliance audits.

Requirements

• CPA License
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive public accounting experience
• Highly evolved analytical and problem solving ability
• Proven supervisory and training success
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills, rules and standards
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, and organizational skills
