Business Tax Manager / Senior Manager (Construction Expertise)

Mowery & Schoenfeld is seeking an experienced business tax manager or senior manager with expertise in construction clients, leadership skills, and a focus on professional growth within public accounting.

Location: Remote

Salary: $130k–$200k

Responsibilities

• Lead engagements by meeting client needs with a sense of urgency.
• Develop recommendations and maintain client relationships by balancing client needs with other assignments and deadlines.
• Provide proactive advice based on knowledge of tax law, particularly within business tax.
• Demonstrate initiative to creatively solve issues in collaboration with the lead.
• Leverage technology to automate internal and client processes to improve efficiency.
• Act as a mentor to younger staff and work directly with Directors and Partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other relevant discipline.
• 5+ years of tax experience in public accounting, with 2+ years in managerial role preferred.
• CPA-certified and active license.
• Expertise in management of business and entity tax compliance and providing knowledgeable insight into construction clients.
• Background and experience managing and actively providing advisory and tax solutions to clients.
• Feels empowered to provide solutions and ideas.
• Exhibits excellent project and team leadership, and communication skills.
