Cantonese Linguistics Specialist - Remote | Up To $50/hr

Salary: $50/hour

Responsibilities

• Transcribe and optimize audio and video content in Cantonese following detailed constraints and instructions.
• Produce high-quality written outputs in English ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to guidelines.
• Define and document evaluation standards for consumer audio contexts, developing rubrics and grading guidelines in Cantonese and English.
• Conduct model testing and grading, evaluating outputs for accuracy, completeness, and instructional clarity.
• Support benchmarking and quality assurance, participating in QA cycles to meet Mercor’s quality standards.
• Collaborate with project leads to resolve ambiguities and improve task design.

Requirements

• Strong writing, editing, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Fluency in Cantonese and English (spoken and written).
• Available to commit 10–20 hours per week.

Additional Information

• The role is a contract position paying $50/hour with a commitment of 10–20 hours per week.
• Candidates will complete a short AI-led interview (approximately 15 minutes) as part of the application process.
