Coding Specialist II - Multispecialty (GI, Neurology & Pulmonology)

Perform coding and related duties using established billing office policies, acting as the primary contact for physicians, department administrators, and billing staff. Coordinate professional service billings for clinical departments.

Location: Remote (WI, DE, FL, GA, IL, MN, NC, TN, TX)

Salary: $52,300–$64,900/yr

Responsibilities

• Assignment or verification of CPT, ICD-10 CM coding and modifiers based upon documentation.
• Resolve edits for electronic charges following established policies.
• Charge Entry as needed.
• Monitor charge flow and act as a liaison with managers and department administrators.
• Work with clinic staff and physicians regarding missing or unclear billing information.
• Identify, report, and resolve coding and reimbursement issues.
• Work with physicians, department administrators, and billing staff to reduce denials and enhance revenue.
• Develop and maintain protocols related to assigned areas.
• Maintain understanding of provider documentation policies.
• Participate in new provider orientations.
• Address trends in provider documentation that impact coding and billing.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 CM coding.
• Understanding of medical insurance guidelines and governmental policies.
• Progressive computer skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
