Controller - Non Profit Experience

The Nonprofit Controller will manage financial operations for a portfolio of nonprofit clients, including charter schools and social organizations, providing consulting, financial analysis, and oversight.

Location: Remote (Operating in FL, NC, NJ, NY, TX)

Salary: $95K–$105K/yr

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of finances for a portfolio of clients.
• Act as a liaison between clients and audit firms.
• Oversee preparation and review of audit packages.
• Implement audit findings.
• Review and finalize annual budgets and financial reports.
• Manage staffing needs and serve as escalation point for client teams.
• Manage multiple clients virtually.
• Engage with client leadership on financial strategies.
• Monitor financial trends and present analysis to stakeholders.
• Participate in Board meetings.

Requirements

• 8+ years of accounting, financial reporting, and management experience.
• 3+ years managing and prioritizing work of team members or projects.
• Experience working in non-profit organizations.
• Experience working in schools or socially responsible organizations.
• Management of multiple projects and clients (preferred).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Intacct, or similar.
