The Cybersecurity Analyst at SouthState is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity events, supporting the bank's security operations and threat intelligence efforts.
Location: Remote (US)
Responsibilities
- Monitor all in-place security solutions for efficient and appropriate operations.
- Review logs and reports of all in-place devices and interpret implications.
- Participate in investigation and resolution of anomalous activity.
- Serve as a first responder for potential security events.
- Analyze configuration and vulnerability information to determine risk.
- Escalate adverse activity to the Incident Response Team.
- Participate in cybersecurity on-call rotation.
- Provide feedback on tuning of rules and alerts.
- Validate log sources and logged event types.
- Collect and analyze threat intelligence.
- Assess and enhance threat intelligence platforms.
- Serve as a member of the incident response team.
Requirements
- Associate Degree or equivalent in Information Security, computer science, mathematics, engineering, or related field.
- Two or more years of cybersecurity experience, preferably in a financial institution.
- Certifications such as GIAC or CompTIA Security+ or CySA+ preferred.
- Understanding of financial sector regulatory requirements and security best practices.
- Strong security mindset.
