Design Manager – Sports & Entertainment - Senior

Senior Design Manager at Gensler leading multidisciplinary design teams on sports and entertainment projects, overseeing all phases from concept to completion, with a focus on complex architecture and live crowd energy.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and project management, ensuring alignment with client goals and firm standards.
• Drive project delivery during all phases, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans.
• Lead relationships with clients, contractors, agencies, and consultants.
• Prepare and review proposals, contracts, and consultant agreements.
• Track internal project financial metrics and coordinate with accounting on invoicing.
• Participate in marketing and business development activities.
• Manage mid-size to large project teams, assign and monitor tasks.
• Support mentorship of junior staff.
• Oversee coordination and document preparation, providing quality assurance.

Requirements

• 12+ years of project/design management experience in an architecture firm.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Architecture.
• Extensive experience in all phases of architectural projects, preferably for sports stadiums, training facilities, and entertainment venues.
• Ability to provide excellent client service and ensure project profitability.
• Desire to lead teams and mentor junior staff.
• High level of architecture competence and expertise in mixed-use developments.
• High knowledge of state and local building codes, including accessibility.
• Sustainable design experience, with hands-on LEED project participation and accreditation.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and/or Revit.
