Director of Finance

Seeking a high-energy, hands-on Director of Finance to manage daily financial operations, system optimization, and strategic financial planning for a company based in New York, with a fully remote work environment.

Location: Remote

Salary: $100,000 - $150,000

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute all day-to-day accounting functions, including AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger management.
• Act as the internal expert for QuickBooks Online, ensuring accurate transaction categorization and system utilization.
• Manage cash flow, maintain low A/R levels, and ensure timely collections.
• Evaluate and improve financial systems and internal controls, ensuring efficiency, GAAP compliance, and audit readiness.
• Partner with the Reporting Manager to ensure financial data integrates into Power BI and monitor dashboards for performance and data integrity.
• Lead the development of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Provide strategic financial insights to the executive team for long-term planning and growth.
• Manage and mentor the staff bookkeeper.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in accounting or financial management.
• Extensive experience in a B2B environment, specifically with physical products and inventory-heavy operations.
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Ability to work fluently within Power BI for data analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA is a plus.
