Encore Staff Pharmacist

The Staff Pharmacist role involves interpreting prescriptions, verifying information, dispensing medications, and consulting with patients, primarily within a mail order pharmacy setting. It requires a licensed pharmacist with experience in pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physicians’ or prescribers’ prescriptions and verify prescription details.
• Contact doctors and/or patients to verify prescription information.
• Verify prescription information entered in the system.
• Consult with patients regarding medication use and drug interactions.
• Process prescription orders efficiently and accurately.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and potential drug interactions.
• Provide medication counseling and address patient inquiries.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve prescription issues.
• Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, including privacy guidelines.
• Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement.
• Stay updated on medications, regulations, and industry developments.
• Complete required training and work scheduled shifts.

Requirements

• Registered pharmacist in good standing in the state.
• Degree in pharmacy (PharmD or BS).
• Experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably mail order.
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Strong customer service, quality, and accuracy focus.
• Ability to read and interpret prescriptions.
• Detail-oriented with organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt and learn quickly.
• Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Conduct business in a private, confidential environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of Pharmacy Benefits Management/Managed care industry (asset).
• Able to work scheduled shifts.
• Successfully complete Express Scripts’ training.
• Reliable internet connection if working from home.
