IT Team Manager (DevOps)

The IT Manager role at PPG involves defining and architecting deployment, automation, and management of cloud applications and infrastructure, leading a global DevOps team, and driving automation and best practices in CI/CD, monitoring, and infrastructure automation. Responsibilities
- Lead a global team of fifteen DevOps engineers across different geographies.
- Develop and implement DevOps and DevSecOps strategies aligned with company goals.
- Establish and maintain best practices for infrastructure automation, CI/CD, monitoring, and release management.
- Implement a Community of Practices to evangelize DevOps best practices.
- Drive automation initiatives for operational tasks including infrastructure provisioning, release notes, configuration management, and deployment processes.
- Implement and ensure DevOps metrics are met.
- Reduce technical backlog through strategic initiatives.
- Keep DevOps guidelines up-to-date.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, proposing innovative solutions.
- Participate in recruitment of IT support personnel.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security policies, and SOX activities.
- Schedule personnel duties for coverage.
- Communicate effectively with management and team members.
- Ensure procedures and work instructions are efficient.
- Provide regular updates to managers.
- Prioritize customer service and problem-solving.
- Consult with reporting managers on complex situations.
- Adhere to company policies on security, health, safety, and quality.
- Maintain confidentiality of data and proprietary information.
- Work effectively under pressure with changing priorities.
- Align with business and IT strategic directions.
- Understand current business processes and tools.
- Manage projects as required.
- Organize 24/7 support with the team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Developer and/or DevOps engineer.
- Proficiency with DevOps tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Git, Azure DevOps.
- Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD processes in Azure Pipelines.
- Experience driving organizational change related to DevOps culture.
- Understanding of monitoring and logging tools: App Insights, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Leadership experience.
- Project management experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
