Junior Product Designer

WealthCounsel is seeking a motivated and driven Junior Product Designer to join their team. The role involves designing user-centered experiences across software products, working closely with product managers and engineers, and contributing to the full design process from research to implementation support.

Location: Remote

Responsibilities

• Apply structured problem-framing with guidance, articulate the problem a design is solving, participate in discovery sessions, create wireframes, prototypes, and design documentation, distinguish between user requests and underlying needs.
• Design interaction flows, interface layouts, and components in alignment with the design system, account for full spectrum of states, design for various device types, contribute to iterative improvement.
• Participate in user research activities, shadow support troubleshooting sessions, review support tickets and feature requests, develop understanding of user needs.
• Actively learn product area, understand workflows, collaborate with engineering, review release notes.

Requirements

• 0–3 years of experience in product design, UX design, or a related role.
• Portfolio demonstrating user-centered thinking, interaction design craft, and problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Figma or equivalent tools.
• Familiarity with UX research methods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to design quality.
• Curiosity about how products work from various perspectives.
