Manager Platform Engineering

The Manager of Platform Engineering leads Natera's infrastructure, overseeing Cloud Engineering, Orchestration, and Kafka workstreams. They act as a Product Manager for the internal Cloud Ecosystem, ensuring it supports scalable workloads and provides a seamless developer experience. Reporting to the Director of Platform Engineering, they define the strategic roadmap and lead a high-performing team to innovate and improve internal developer platforms.

Location: US - Remote

Responsibilities

• Lead the backbone of Natera's infrastructure, overseeing Cloud Engineering, Orchestration, and Kafka workstreams.
• Act as the Product Manager for the internal Cloud Ecosystem, ensuring it supports workloads and makes deploying and scaling effortless.
• Define the multi-year roadmap for Cloud, Orchestration, and Kafka ecosystems.
• Refine the strategic roadmap for cloud and event-streaming services.
• Close out high-impact projects while maintaining stability and reliability of production environments.
• Achieve high internal satisfaction scores by treating the platform as a world-class product.

Requirements

• 8+ years in Cloud/Platform/Infrastructure Engineering.
• Experience leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong product management skills, especially in cloud ecosystems.
• Ability to define and execute strategic roadmaps for cloud and streaming services.
• Experience with internal developer platforms and enterprise-grade guardrails.
