Marine Interdiction Agent

The Marine Interdiction Agent role involves marine-based law enforcement operations to detect, prevent, and interdict illegal activities including terrorism, weapons, and contraband, protecting America's borders. Location: Road Town, British Virgin Islands

Salary: up to $142,199 per year based on qualifications and location, with additional incentives such as a $10,000 recruitment bonus and possible retention incentives.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring behavior patterns and activities of suspect persons, vehicles, or vessels believed to be engaged in illegal activities.
• Interpreting radar data to calculate appropriate intercept while tracking vessels and people to a successful interdiction.
• Searching persons, vessels, baggage, and cargo for contraband or weapons incidental to detention or arrest.
• Collecting, refining, and analyzing strategic and tactical intelligence.

Requirements

• Must have a qualifying Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC).
• One year of specialized experience performing law enforcement duties such as conducting searches, making arrests, processing evidence, and utilizing surveillance equipment.
• Or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, three years of higher-level graduate education, or LL.M.
• Or a combination of post-bachelor's education and experience.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years.
• Must be under age 40 unless eligible for age waiver or veterans' preference.
• Must successfully complete required training.
