OnTrac is hiring a Mechanical Engineer Consultant responsible for overseeing the technical health and operational efficiency of the organization's infrastructure, including designing and optimizing mechanical material handling systems.

Responsibilities

Oversee technical health and operational efficiency of the organization's infrastructure.
Design, evaluate, and optimize mechanical material handling systems to improve asset reliability, throughput, safety, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
8 years of relevant experience in engineering for facilities, conveyor systems, automated material handling, or sortation equipment, ideally within logistics, shipping, or manufacturing.
Experience leading complex engineering initiatives and influencing cross-functional teams.
Ability to lead changeovers, train teams, and standardize practices across multiple sites.
Understanding of mechanical systems, operations, safety, and business performance interdependencies.
Adaptable communication style to align engineering decisions with broader business, operational, and financial objectives.
Knowledge of work measurement, labor standards, line balancing, time study, process mapping, and visual management.
Advanced skills in MS Office and BI tools for data validation and KPI reporting.
Proficiency in CAD systems and simulation tools.
Ability to travel up to 35%.
