Observational Research Manager (Pharmacovigilance Epidemiology and Causal Inference)

Amgen is seeking an Observational Research Manager (Epidemiology) to support research activities related to obesity products and pharmacovigilance epidemiology/causal inference, generating real-world evidence for various business needs. The role involves designing and executing studies, influencing stakeholders, and advancing epidemiological methods.

Location: Thousand Oaks, California or Remote

Salary: $109,087.30–$147,588.70/yr

Responsibilities

• Design and execute studies based on causal inference frameworks to support evidence generation, including identifying patient populations, assessing disease burden, and supporting product registration and label expansions.
• Identify opportunities to substitute for or complement interventional studies to reduce drug development time and cost.
• Influence cross-functional stakeholders on the use and timing of non-interventional research for strategic business questions.
• Leverage real-world data and analytic approaches to inform high-value business decisions.
• Contribute to the advancement of epidemiological methods and analytical capabilities within CfOR.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree in Epidemiology or a related field with high observational research content, OR
• Master's degree with 3+ years of scientific experience, OR
• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of scientific experience, OR
• Associate’s degree with 10+ years of scientific experience, OR
• High school diploma/GED with 12+ years of scientific experience.
