Principal Operations Engineer Hardware — Data Center Operations

Fluidstack is focused on delivering large-scale compute infrastructure for AI, aiming to accelerate AI deployment and ensure hardware reliability at hyperscale data centers. They seek individuals passionate about building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $150,000 - $250,000 per year, plus equity

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical authority for operational hardware across hyperscale AI data centers.
• Lead site assessments and operational audits.
• Drive technical readiness of teams before site activation.
• Review hardware platforms and integration designs from an operational perspective.
• Feed operational learnings into hardware engineering, deployment, and supply chain organizations.
• Act as a connector between hardware operations, engineering, network, facilities, and customer teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience operating mission-critical hardware infrastructure.
• At least 5 years as the senior technical voice on a site, campus, or fleet.
• Data center operations experience, preferably in hyperscale, HPC, or large-scale compute environments.
• Deep knowledge of GPU systems, server platforms, storage infrastructure, firmware management, and diagnostics.
• Experience authoring and executing high-risk operational procedures.
• Proven ability to lead root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
