Location: United States

Salary: $170,000–$210,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Serve as the ERISA expert for internal teams working with plan sponsors and participants, providing legal guidance on ERISA, IRC, and fiduciary questions throughout the customer lifecycle.
• Advise on complex plan sponsor or participant questions, including ERISA compliance, fee disclosures, and participant communications.
• Translate ERISA and IRC requirements into clear guidance for product development, testing automation handling edge cases, and flagging fiduciary duty implications.
• Stay current on legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments affecting retirement plans and advise teams accordingly.
• Draft and maintain internal policies, procedures, and educational resources related to ERISA.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of substantive ERISA experience focused on qualified retirement plans and fiduciary matters.
• Minimum of two years practicing ERISA law at a law firm.
• Experience with qualified plan operational compliance, including EPCRS.
• Working knowledge of ERISA fiduciary duty and prohibited transaction rules.
• Admitted to the bar and authorized to practice law in any state.
