A non-remote Phlebotomist role based in Melbourne, FL, responsible for blood collection, specimen handling, and overseeing phlebotomy operations at a patient service center.
Location: Melbourne, FL
Responsibilities
- Verifies test requisitions and patient identification.
- Obtains blood specimens via venipunctures and finger sticks.
- Maintains specimen integrity and tracks collections.
- Ensures quality results and follows testing procedures.
- Resolves test order issues and reports discrepancies.
- Participates in training and maintains compliance with HIPAA and security policies.
- Manages phlebotomy equipment and may oversee other phlebotomists.
- Supports program management including scheduling, vendor relations, and customer feedback.
- Ensures ongoing communication and compliance with state regulations.
- Maintains current training requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred, depending on state regulations.
- Experience in managing/supervising phlebotomy operations and teams preferred.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
