Deeter Investments is launching a dedicated algorithmic division and is seeking a Head of Quant Trading to develop and scale algorithmic trading strategies and models, blending technical work with strategic oversight.

Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and refinement of proprietary trading algorithms using statistical and machine-learning techniques.
- Build forecasting, signal-generation, and risk models; run back-tests and simulations.
- Mine large datasets for insights.
- Evaluate emerging research in deep learning, reinforcement learning, and agent-based modeling.
- Partner with engineering to design scalable trading systems.
- Oversee codebases in Python and C++, enforce best practices.
- Build pipelines for data ingestion, model training, and deployment.
- Select and integrate analytics platforms, databases, and cloud resources.
- Define and track KPIs such as alpha decay, slippage, Sharpe ratio, drawdown, and latency.
- Embed risk models and dynamic hedging, enforce limits.
- Iterate strategies through parameter sweeps and scenario tests.
- Mentor a team of quants, data scientists, and engineers.
- Champion code quality and transparent research documentation.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or Physics.
- Minimum 2 years building and deploying profitable algorithmic strategies at a hedge fund, bank, or proprietary trading firm.
- Advanced expertise in Python, C++, or Java; familiarity with Linux, Git, and CI workflows.
- Deep knowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
- Proven skill in real-time data pipelines, distributed/cloud computing, and performance optimization.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
- Exceptional analytical rigor, clear communication, and leadership skills.
