Residential Real Estate Title Search Quality Control

Location: Remote (US)

Responsibilities

• Analyze completed title searches for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to SOPs.
• Examine and evaluate documentation such as deeds, mortgages, taxes, liens, judgments, easements, restrictions, bankruptcy filings, foreclosures, and maps.
• Analyze and understand chain of title, identify defects, and prepare reports on title-related matters.
• Examine title records from outside abstractors and seek additional information when necessary.
• Synthesize all title search information and prepare property reports and title commitments.

Requirements

• 1-4 years experience as a title abstractor/examiner, including online search experience.
• Familiarity with state guidelines and online property tax searches.
• Attention to detail in reviewing and entering data.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Familiarity with title search platforms (Softpro, Qualia, Datatrace, etc.) is helpful.
• Good judgment regarding access to confidential data.
• Ability to collaborate and work independently.
• Ability to work under pressure and overtime if necessary.
