Return To Work/Workers Compensation Specialist – Full-Time - AU

A role supporting Australian workers compensation processes, combining administrative, payroll, and injury management skills. The candidate should be highly organized, proactive, and able to work with multiple stakeholders.

Location: Remote (Australia)

Responsibilities

  • Manage receipt, logging, and distribution of medical certificates, reports, and insurer instructions.
  • Support submission and notification of claims to relevant states.
  • Maintain accurate injury management records.
  • Assist with coordination of suitable duties and claim updates.
  • Follow-up with insurers, rehab providers, and workers for documentation and approvals.
  • Track outstanding certificates and return to work plans.
  • Manage weekly payroll processing for injured workers.
  • Assess and calculate Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings (PIAWE).
  • Reconcile payroll data with insurer determinations and deadlines.
  • Prepare and submit reimbursement requests for wages and costs.
  • Reconcile remittances and reimbursements.
  • Process medical expense reimbursements.
  • Maintain high-volume document workflows, upload, index, and code documents.
  • Ensure communication with insurers, providers, and staff is recorded.
  • Build relationships with insurers, brokers, treatment providers, and rehab consultants.
  • Communicate with injured workers empathetically and professionally.
  • Support internal teams for injury management outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and confidentiality.
  • Support audits, reviews, and reporting.
