Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier

A career opportunity with Canada Post as a Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier, responsible for delivering mail in various communities, operating a motor vehicle in all weather conditions, and providing excellent customer service.

Location: Saint Vincent's, Newfoundland and Labrador

Salary: $9,299.32 - $10,553.89 annually (including wages, allowances, and vehicle expenses)

Responsibilities

• Sort, collect, and deliver mail items safely and timely.
• Provide replacement or helper coverage for absences or extra hours.
• Maintain knowledge of local infrastructure, roads, customers, and delivery receptacles.
• Ensure mail is securely in possession.
• Process CPC products and services such as Change of Address, Damaged Mail, and IDB.
• Wear Canada Post identification visibly during delivery.
• Lift and carry items up to 50 lb/22.7 kg.
• Operate a motor vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions.

Requirements

• Pass an interview.
• Provide a current driver’s abstract within the last 30 days.
• Possess a valid permanent provincial driver’s license (class 5 or G).
• Have a satisfactory safe driving record.
• Meet the mandatory vehicle requirements (cargo capacity, transmission, safety features, etc.).
