Senior Consultant, Risk Advisory, Data Management Office (DMO)

The role involves supporting risk management activities within the Data Management Office at CIBC, focusing on operational risk, control assessments, and compliance within the bank's governance framework.

Location: IL-Illinois - Virtual

Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 USD

Responsibilities

• Support risk management activities for the Data Management Office (DMO) team, including identifying controls, risk assessments, remediation, and reporting.
• Liaise with second and third lines of defense on risk programs, gather evidence, support exams, and provide subject matter expertise.
• Advise internal clients on operational risk management solutions and help maintain an acceptable risk posture.
• Lead risk assessments, control framework design, and manage regulatory and internal controls.
• Participate in audits and regulatory projects, and communicate risk requirements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of banking experience, especially in data management and risk management.
• Experience interpreting policies and procedures, with knowledge of risks related to Data Management, AI, Data Governance, or Data Analytics.
• Strong analytical, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage projects, understand complex issues, and influence stakeholders.
• Knowledge of control frameworks, risk assessments, and regulatory requirements.
