Senior Information Manager

Senior Information Manager to lead digital and information management projects across multiple sectors, including infrastructure, stadia, culture, commercial, aviation, and residential, with a focus on BIM implementation and project lifecycle management.

Location: Remote (South Africa)

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a specialist team on IM consultancy projects across various sectors.
• Consult clients on strategic BIM implementation throughout project lifecycle.
• Liaise with project stakeholders to support collaborative working culture.
• Manage and deliver client’s information requirements during projects, including coordination, planning, and visualization.
• Offer IM consultancy for creating strategic and tactical requirements and setting up Asset and Project Information Models.
• Set up and manage Common Data Environments (CDEs) for clients where the company is Lead Consultant or has the IM scope.
• Establish internal CDE processes and procedures for reliable information exchange.
• Provide strategic advice to clients on digital project improvements.
• Maintain Information Model integrity and security standards.
• Drive project performance, service delivery, and technical outcomes, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks.
• Support client care and satisfaction initiatives.
• Manage project documents in line with Quality Management System (QMS).
• Assist in preparing monthly client reports.
• Monitor team tasks and deadlines, flag potential delays.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate actions.
• Ensure compliance with QA procedures and support QMS audits.
• Create and improve project information management protocols.
• Oversee creation of project deliverables to meet client requirements.
• Set up and communicate issues with common systems and templates.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in the construction industry with knowledge of Revit, Civil 3D, BIM360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Solibri, or Navisworks.
• Relevant industry qualification (e.g., Engineering Technology, Architect, Architectural Technologist, Project Management, BIM Management) or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the Built Environment sector with architects, main contractors, or engineering consultancies in project/design and information management roles.
• Ability to lead Information Management for complex multi-disciplinary projects across regions.
• Experience in consulting on BIM strategic implementation throughout project lifecycle.
• Experience managing and delivering client’s information requirements, including coordination and visualization.
• Experience providing IM consultancy for Asset and Project Information Models.
• Maintaining Information Model security and integrity standards.
• Managing documents according to QMS and QA procedures.
• Setting up and managing CDEs (e.g., ACC, SharePoint) for clients.
• Understanding of ISO 19650 standards and international approaches.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to promote value of IM and digital delivery.
• Leadership capability to lead projects or work alongside project directors.
• Process mapping and digital deliverable management.
• Validation, compliance checks, and reporting.
• Process improvement and collaboration with QA teams.
