Senior Software Engineer, Applications

Location: Remote (US)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain SmithRx product features using Golang, GraphQL, Node, and SQL.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and technical leads to understand requirements and produce scalable software.
  • Provide scope and risk estimates for system and feature builds with technical design documentation.
  • Apply software development best practices, design patterns, testing, automation, and modern tools.
  • Utilize AWS technologies such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and RDS for job processing.
  • Perform triage for live issues, assess impact, and conduct root-cause analysis.
  • Mentor and review code for junior team members.
  • Translate technical vision into quarterly roadmaps with leadership.
  • Foster a collaborative learning culture through mentorship and exploration of new technologies.
  • Identify and share new AI tools and technologies to improve software delivery.

Requirements

  • BS or advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 8-12 years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience with compiled languages such as Go, Java, C#, or C++ (Go preferred).
  • Proficiency with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, including schema design and SQL tuning.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable APIs.
  • Strong understanding of GraphQL, CI/CD pipelines, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with GenAI tools is a plus.
  • Positive, team-first attitude with flexibility to navigate ambiguity.
  • Disciplined approach to software design, independent work, and stakeholder management.
