Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Continuous Delivery)

The role is within the Developer Productivity team, specifically in the Continuous Delivery team, aimed at enhancing engineering efficiency and scaling developer productivity in an AI-enhanced software development lifecycle.

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $169,000–$219,000/yr (all other U.S. states)

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
• Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics.
• Proactively identify project, process, technology, or business issues, advocate for them, and lead in solving them.
• Support the operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting 'keep the lights on' efforts.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards.
• Help develop talent on the team by providing feedback and guidance, and leading by example.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.
• Experience developing highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience building or evolving CI/CD, deployment, or release automation systems.
• Comfort working on shared developer infrastructure and defining platform interfaces, templates, or guardrails.
• Experience defining technical plans for significant features or system components with elegant, simple, and extensible design.
• Proficiency in making significant changes in large code bases safely.
• Ownership of personal growth, seeking feedback proactively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
