Senior Software Engineer - Data Integration & JVM Ecosystem

The company is on a mission to transform how companies use data and is expanding its Connectors team to build and maintain integrations with the data ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain critical parts of ClickHouse's Data engineering ecosystem, including core database drivers and SDKs for JVM-based applications.
• Collaborate with open-source community, internal teams, and enterprise users to ensure high performance, reliability, and developer experience of JVM integrations.
• Build tools that enable Data Engineers to harness ClickHouse's speed and scale for processing massive datasets.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software development experience focusing on high-quality, data-intensive solutions.
• Proven experience with internals of Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Kafka Connect, or Apache Beam.
• Experience developing or extending connectors, sinks, or sources for big data processing frameworks.
• Strong understanding of database fundamentals: SQL, data modeling, query optimization, OLAP/analytical databases.
• Proficiency in Java and JVM ecosystem, including memory management, garbage collection tuning, and performance profiling.
• Experience with concurrent programming in Java, including threads, executors, and reactive/asynchronous patterns.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Understanding of JDBC, network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP), and data throughput optimization.
• Passion for open-source development.
