Senior System Designer

Senior System Designer at Ludia responsible for designing, balancing, and overseeing game systems, metagames, and economies, with a focus on fun, UX, and KPIs.

Location: Remote (Canada)

Responsibilities

• Handle large parts of the game and oversee multiple game systems.
• Design metagames, economies, gameplay and other game systems from A to Z.
• Foresee and resolve complex issues.
• Simplify complex systems for players.
• Design with fun, UX, and product KPIs in mind.
• Apply systemic thinking to creative processes.
• Create, balance, and develop tools for game systems.
• Use various design tools like spreadsheets, projections, simulations, etc.
• Apply industry best practices like Rational Game Design.
• Produce game design documentation for all game lifecycle stages.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor other designers.
• Support the project at a foundational level.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a professional game designer.
• Deep understanding of Free-to-Play Live-Ops events and content pipelines.
• Advanced mastery of spreadsheets and design tools.
• Proficiency with game data structures and configs.
• Thorough understanding of games' commercial appeal.
