Software Engineer

Location: Remote (Canada)

Salary: $95,000–$159,000 CAD plus bonus and benefits

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, ship, and maintain features end-to-end in TypeScript across React frontends and backend services.
• Own delivery of project-level work from breakdown and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-release iteration.
• Design and implement APIs that query, aggregate, and serve data reliably at scale.
• Build and operate cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Serve as an on-call first responder for the services your team owns; triage, debug, and resolve production issues.
• Create test plans and contribute to automated testing to enable safe, frequent releases.
• Conduct peer reviews of code, designs, test plans, and documentation.
• Mentor IC1 engineers and interns.
• Improve developer experience by enhancing tooling, test coverage, and code structure.
• Use modern AI coding tools to accelerate delivery and grow into a senior engineer.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UI designers, Cyber Analysts, and other engineers to deliver security outcomes.

Requirements

• ~3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript and a modern frontend framework (React preferred).
• Experience designing and building backend services and APIs (REST or GraphQL).
• Solid grounding in computer science fundamentals.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Experience writing automated tests and giving code reviews.
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems and reason through trade-offs.
• Track record of delivering on time and quality.
• Clear communication skills and ability to mentor.
• Curiosity, continuous learning, and ownership.
• BSc in Computer Science or related field.
