Software Solutions Architect (HealthTech) (Remote)

AssistRx is a healthcare technology company providing end-to-end patient access and therapy initiation solutions, supporting complex workflows in a HIPAA-regulated environment. The company is evolving from a startup to a scalable enterprise SaaS platform, emphasizing reliable, secure, and compliant solutions.

Location: Remote (US)

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution architecture across client implementations and shared platform capabilities.
• Translate business, regulatory (HIPAA), and customer requirements into clear, actionable architecture designs.
• Create and maintain architecture artifacts including system and component diagrams, data flows, API contracts, and ADRs.
• Define and enforce non-functional requirements such as scalability, performance, availability, security, operability, and maintainability.
• Guide architectural evolution towards microservices where justified.
• Define and govern HTTP-based API standards, lead contract-first API development, and architect Azure API Management.
• Design secure and reliable SFTP integrations, ensuring encryption, validation, reconciliation, and failure recovery.
• Assess current architecture for scalability, reliability, and compliance gaps, and establish architectural guardrails.
• Serve as the architectural discipline lead, facilitate reviews, guide decision-making, and represent architecture in planning and executive discussions.
• Contribute technically through prototyping, problem solving, performance tuning, code reviews, and production support.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3–5+ years in an architecture or senior technical leadership role.
• Proven experience designing enterprise-grade, distributed systems in regulated environments (HIPAA).
• Strong expertise with .NET / .NET Core / ASP.NET Core / Web APIs.
• Experience with Azure services including App Services, Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Blob Storage, API Management.
• Experience with relational and in-memory data stores such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Redis.
• Deep understanding of HTTP & RESTful APIs and secure data exchange patterns including SFTP.
• Strong experience with Git workflows, CI/CD, and code reviews.
• Ability to collaborate with DBAs on schema design and performance optimization.
