Sr Transportation Analyst – Freight Pay & Audit

The Senior Analyst, Freight Audit for Transportation at Cardinal Health plays a critical role in optimizing transportation costs and ensuring financial accuracy within the company's extensive medical supply chain. The role involves managing freight invoice audit and payment processes, driving continuous improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $27.40–$39.30 per hour

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and refine SOPs for freight auditing, queue management, and invoice aging resolution.
• Ensure accurate freight audit in systems and procedures, collaborating with system owners for logic or coding changes.
• Ensure accurate general ledger coding and cost allocation, investigating billing discrepancies and potential duplicate payments.
• Generate and analyze KPI reports on audit and payment activity, supporting process improvement and month-end close.
• Manage and resolve carrier invoice disputes, providing guidance on approval or rejection based on audit findings.
• Serve as a primary contact for carriers, providing guidance and training on invoicing procedures.
• Monitor and manage payment system queues, troubleshooting and resolving invoice errors, collaborating with IT, Procurement, Transportation, and Finance teams.
• Mentor and train team members and new hires on freight audit and payment policies, procedures, and systems.
• Identify opportunities for process and system enhancements, proposing and implementing solutions.
• Lead and participate in cost savings initiatives and projects, contributing to financial goals.
• Monitor and report on operational and financial KPIs, providing insights for strategic improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in Freight Audit, Transportation and Logistics Finance, Accounts Payable, or similar role in a high-volume environment (preferred).
• Experience with ERPs (SAP, Oracle), TMS platforms, or freight audit systems.
• Intermediate Excel skills (V/X Lookups, Pivot Tables).
• Familiarity with Salesforce.com or similar CRM/case management tools.
• Travel expectations: 10%.
