Staff Software Engineer – AI SDK

Location: Remote

Salary: $224,000 - $302,400

Responsibilities

• Work as a Software Engineer.
• Design and implement Temporal AI SDK features supporting various frameworks and libraries.
• Develop a deep understanding of AI application development techniques, including emerging approaches and architectures.
• Work with multiple programming languages, primarily Python and TypeScript.
• Make extensive use of AI coding tools to ensure quality across integrations.
• Take end-to-end ownership of new features, collaborating with other teams for reliability and developer experience.
• Serve as a domain expert on AI design patterns, providing best practices and examples.
• Work directly with the developer community to debug issues and gather feedback.
• Write public technical documentation.
• Support customers with AI SDK expertise.
• Travel once or twice a year for meetings.
• Attend developer conferences (optional).

Requirements

• Experience and passion for harnessing generative AI, especially for agents and coding.
• Deep understanding of using AI to increase quality.
• Opinionated and thoughtful approach to software development.
• Track record of open source contributions.
• Fluency in multiple programming languages and eagerness to learn new ones.
• Deep experience with concurrent programming.
• Experience designing APIs and writing documentation.
• Strong technical communication skills in English.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
