The role involves designing and governing cloud-native solutions across compute, networking, data, identity, and security domains on a major cloud platform, partnering with stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into scalable, cost-effective cloud architectures.

Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end cloud solutions covering compute, networking, storage, identity, data, and observability layers.
- Lead solution architecture reviews and approval processes for major cloud initiatives.
- Define cloud landing zone, account structure, and tagging strategies for new and existing workloads.
- Establish reference architectures, blueprints, and reusable patterns adopted across engineering teams.
- Architect security, identity, and compliance controls embedded into the cloud foundation.
- Design networking topologies including VPC/VNet design, transit hubs, hybrid connectivity, and private endpoints.
- Lead cloud migration, modernization, and re-platforming initiatives across application portfolios.
- Drive cost optimization, capacity planning, and FinOps practices across the cloud estate, partnering with finance and engineering teams to make cloud spend transparent, predictable, and tied to delivered business value.
- Partner with security architects to embed identity, data protection, and compliance controls from the outset.
- Produce architecture artifacts including context diagrams, sequence diagrams, and decision records.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams during solution delivery.
- Engage with cloud providers and platform partners to evaluate roadmap fit.
- Track emerging cloud capabilities and ecosystem developments, assessing relevance to current and planned workloads, and recommend strategic adoption based on demonstrated value and operational maturity.
- Maintain alignment with enterprise architecture standards, security policies, and regulatory obligations, ensuring that cloud designs satisfy both engineering goals and the broader compliance posture of the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Eight or more years of experience in software engineering or solution architecture roles.
- Deep expertise designing cloud-native solutions on at least one major cloud platform.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity, and security primitives.
- Experience with cloud migration, modernization, and platform consolidation programs.
- Strong understanding of containerization, serverless, and managed data services.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience producing formal architecture artifacts and presenting them to senior leadership.
- Track record of leading architecture reviews and influencing engineering direction.
- Cloud architecture certification (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
