Technical Service Representative (Field Service)

Atlas Material Testing is seeking a Field Service Engineer (Technical Service Representative) to join their U.S. Field Tech Service Team, servicing customers across the Midwest. The role involves on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer support for technology products, with a focus on reporting, record keeping, and expanding product lines.

Responsibilities
- Conducting tests on instruments and mechanical components, electro-status devices, electronic components, circuits, and software to verify or calibrate for correct operation or to diagnose and repair malfunctions.
- Communicating with equipment operators to identify operational problems, replacing defective components, wiring, or software, and adjusting mechanical parts and software settings.
- Aligning, adjusting, and calibrating equipment according to company and OEM specifications.
- Providing training to equipment users on operation, basic maintenance, user calibration, and warranty issues.
- Preparing and presenting detailed quotes, agreements, and service reports, including pricing, discounts, and payment terms, and exercising judgment on warranty issues.
- Creating, maintaining, and submitting technical service records related to client activity, service schedules, and business expenses.
- Maintaining inventory levels of working parts and up-to-date calibration documentation.
- Performing work according to company process and quality standards.
Requirements
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or vocational technical school, electrical and mechanical training, or two years related technology support experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience reading and deciphering schematics and working with high voltage equipment and electrical devices.
- Mathematical aptitude involving practical algebraic and statistical methodologies.
- Proficiency with MS Office Windows and navigating systems and applications.
- Valid driver's license; passport may be required.
- Experience with extensive travel between work locations and remote sites.
- Experience working in fast-paced, multi-task environments.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within technical expertise.
- Ability to make independent decisions within policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Technically oriented communication skills, minimal collaboration required.
