UI Technical Artist (Contract)

Apog Labs is seeking a freelance UI Technical Artist to shape the visual and interactive elements of the game ATMOSFAR, focusing on designing and building user interfaces, menus, and on-screen feedback to enhance player experience.
Location: Remote or Malmö, Sweden
Responsibilities
- Polish, design and implement a diverse range of UI systems including HUDs, menus, inventories and in-world interfaces with intuitive and responsive interactions
- Continue the development of a clean and dynamic UI that aligns with the game's art direction and visual identity
- Ensure all UI can be interacted with using a gamepad
- Collaborate closely with design and art teams to refine player flows and ensure interfaces enhance gameplay while respecting technical limitations
- Optimize UI for performance and memory constraints across platforms
- Work in Unreal Engine (UMG/Slate) and Adobe Photoshop
Requirements
- Strong skills in UI implementation and UX design with a solid grasp of layout, hierarchy, readability and interaction principles
- Proficient in Unreal Engine (UMG/Slate) with experience building and wiring up interactive UI, plus working knowledge of design tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Figma
- Understanding of UI pipelines and experience implementing data-driven, scalable interfaces in Unreal Engine
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proficient in written and spoken English
