The University Supervisor position at Cumberlands involves supervising Alternative Administration Route principal or school counselor candidates within Kentucky, providing mentorship, feedback, and communication support, primarily in a remote setting.

Location: Remote

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate clear communication among participating stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the School of Education to monitor, assess, and provide feedback to candidates.
  • Schedule virtual meetings and possibly travel to observe and conference with candidates.
  • Provide mentoring plans, track candidate progress, and give feedback.
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates and mentors.
  • Maintain records for the Graduate Programs.
  • Participate in trainings and functions.
  • Address the needs of all candidates.
  • Respond to candidate questions within 24 hours.
  • Communicate issues to the School of Education and Graduate Programs.
  • Follow university policies.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Kentucky teaching certificate in P-12 Principalship or P-12 School Counselor.
  • Master’s degree and/or Rank 1 in School Principal or School Counselor.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of and interest in educational standards and initiatives.
  • Experience in teacher supervision, mentoring, and leadership.
