Vertical Transportation Designer

GFT is seeking a Vertical Transportation Designer to support vertical transportation systems design and integration in complex building environments. The role involves producing BIM/drawing deliverables, collaborating on multi-disciplinary projects, and ensuring design compliance.

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $93,000 - $114,000

Responsibilities

• Produce drawings, layouts, and technical solutions for vertical transportation systems.
• Generate BIM deliverables including modeling and detailing.
• Assist project managers with model presentation for meetings.
• Complete Revit Project Setup.
• Review and understand design drawings and models, communicate design changes.
• Manage assigned projects to meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Collaborate on multi-discipline projects.
• Provide layouts for elevators, escalators, and moving walks.
• Participate in quality reviews and take direction.
• Document technical data such as dimensions, structural loading, electrical requirements, and heat output.
• Research elevator, building, and code requirements.
• Improve and generate Revit families.

Requirements

• Associates / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in BIM/Revit, AutoCAD.
• Experience in architectural and/or engineering drafting.
• Familiarity with architectural, mechanical, and electrical design.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Experience with BIM workflows, family editing, modeling, project setup.
• Experience with Revit/CAD file integration.
• Adherence to project plans and workflow.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam Revu.
• Experience with QA/QC processes and ISO 9001 is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
