Virtual Health Clinician - Registered Nurse

Registered Nurses with at least 4 years of hands-on experience in acute health, emergency, or complex primary care are sought to join the Virtual Health team supporting Australians via the Healthdirect Helpline. The role involves providing remote clinical assessment and health advice across diverse presentations, including acute, mental health, and pediatric cases.

Location: Remote (Australia)

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive telephone triage and clinical assessments
• Provide accurate health advice across all age groups and clinical presentations
• Determine urgency and recommend the most appropriate care pathway
• Refer callers to services including GPs, Urgent Care Clinics, or Virtual Emergency Departments

Requirements

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration
• Minimum of 3 years RN experience in acute, emergency, or complex primary health care within the last 5 years
• Ability to apply critical thinking and clinical judgment in high-pressure scenarios
• Experience in mental health and mixed adult/paediatric care (desirable)
• Outstanding communication skills supporting diverse populations
• Strong computer literacy and confidence with telehealth platforms and digital tools
• Residence within Australia
