VP of Strategic Customer Engagement

Striim is a unified data integration and streaming platform used by enterprise companies for real-time analytics, digital transformation, and event monitoring. They are seeking a Vice President of Strategic Customer Engagement to lead post-sales customer success and escalation teams.
Location: Remote (US)
Salary: $280,000–$300,000 USD annually plus commission
Responsibilities
- Lead, scale, and optimize the Technical Account Management organization for customer retention, adoption, expansion, renewal, and upsell.
- Build and lead the new Tiger Team organization, including engagement criteria, escalation workflows, operational processes, staffing, and stabilization frameworks.
- Develop executive-level engagement and escalation strategies to improve customer outcomes and account stability.
- Lead execution during high-priority customer escalations, production recovery, and strategic deployment risks.
- Establish operational boundaries, engagement models, and collaboration protocols among teams.
- Partner with Sales to identify expansion opportunities and support revenue growth.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to communicate customer feedback and product opportunities.
- Support beta programs, product rollouts, and customer enablement.
- Establish customer engagement frameworks, success metrics, KPIs, and reporting.
- Drive accountability on customer health, retention, expansion, and satisfaction.
- Build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders and technical leaders.
- Foster a high-collaboration team culture focused on customer outcomes.
- Lead strategic thinking and hands-on execution to navigate complex enterprise environments.
- Build trust and alignment across internal stakeholders and executive teams.
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
- Represent the company externally with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Partner with Alliances to support joint success initiatives.
- Travel extensively for customer sites, partner engagements, and conferences.
Requirements
- 12+ years of leadership experience in enterprise software, cloud, data infrastructure, SaaS, or data modernization.
- Proven success leading customer success, technical account management, or related teams.
- Track record of driving customer retention, expansion, and upsell.
- Strong experience in data modernization, cloud adoption, real-time data streaming, analytics, or AI.
- Experience working with technical enterprise customers in complex or regulated environments.
- Leading complex escalations and operational recovery initiatives.
- Understanding of enterprise deployment models, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and real-time data architectures.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional execution during high-pressure situations.
- Engaging credibly in technical discussions on enterprise architecture, scalability, and deployment challenges.
- Strategic and tactical operation in a startup environment.
- Building, scaling, or transforming customer-facing technical teams.
- Leading effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- High emotional intelligence, executive presence, and interpersonal skills.
- Balancing urgency, accountability, and operational rigor with collaboration.
- Hands-on leadership in solving customer and operational challenges.
- Navigating organizational dynamics professionally and adaptively.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Commercial mindset aligned with revenue and growth metrics.

- Strong technical depth in enterprise architecture, escalation management, cloud infrastructure, and deployment troubleshooting.
- Experience in fast-paced startup cultures with high visibility.
