Accounting Manager

This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, maintains a strong internal control environment, and delivers high-quality accounting support to internal stakeholders across multiple business units within a shared services model. The Accounting Manager leads and develops a team of accounting professionals, providing coaching, performance management, and technical guidance.

Salary: USD $80,000.00 - USD $100,000.00 /Yr
Responsibilities
- Manage general accounting activities for multiple legal entities within a shared‑services environment, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, and related close processes.
- Oversee and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting work products, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to company policy.
- Maintain responsibility for the general ledger structure, including chart of accounts, mappings, and validation rules within Oracle.
- Prepare, review, and present end‑of‑month financial results, variance analysis, and supporting schedules to management and key stakeholders.
- Perform and document technical accounting research; prepare U.S. GAAP‑compliant accounting memoranda to support complex transactions and new accounting standards.
- Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across all supported U.S. entities within the shared services model.
- Support parent‑company reporting and consolidation requirements, including end‑of‑month reporting to América Móvil.
- Partner with Controllers and cross‑functional teams (e.g., FP&A, Tax, Internal Audit) to streamline accounting processes, enhance financial reporting, and support strategic initiatives.
- Provide timely financial data and insights to support management decision‑making.
- Support internal and external audit requests, ensuring complete documentation, timely responses, and process transparency.
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals, including performance feedback, goal setting, and succession planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field
- Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Preferred)
- Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting experience
- 1-3 years in public accounting (Big 4 or large national firm preferred)
- 1-3 years of people management or team-leader experience
- 1-3 years Experience with accounting software, such as Oracle Cloud or SAP (Preferred)
- 1-3 years of experience supporting multi‑entity accounting environments and shared services models (Preferred)
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) (High proficiency)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) USA Upon Hire
