The Advanced Specialist at Pearson Virtual Schools serves as a primary liaison between Pearson and partner schools, providing expert guidance and operational support in school counseling and career programming within a virtual environment. The role involves managing a portfolio of schools, applying specialized knowledge, and ensuring compliant delivery of services.

Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Assist school counseling personnel in implementing systems and structures for counseling programming, including student enrollment, risk management, and college and career readiness.
- Provide subject matter expertise to guide the implementation of ASCA-modeled counseling programs.
- Mentor, coach, and advise counseling leaders during program implementations.
- Research graduation and educational requirements for schools.
- Support new schools in obtaining High School CEEB and Online Provider Codes.
- Collaborate with Partner Schools Success Operations to deliver counseling initiatives.
- Oversee training and maintenance of the Progression Plan tool.
- Manage creation of school profiles and research counseling guidelines.
- Review and evaluate counseling data.
- Support schools in providing tools, materials, and student supports.
- Monitor counseling service delivery for compliance.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in counselor education, school administration, or related field.
- State issued School Counseling license or Professional Certification.
- Experience supporting or managing school counseling programs.
- Experience as a school counselor, preferably at the high school level.
- Experience in school improvement, program development, and implementation.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Experience with virtual education environments preferred.
- Ability to analyze data, manage priorities, and deliver results.
- Expertise in graduation requirements and compliance.
- Willingness to obtain certification in other states.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High flexibility and organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, AI, and virtual platforms.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
