Director of Revenue Recognition

Saviynt is seeking a highly technical and strategic Director of Revenue Recognition to lead their global revenue accounting function. The role requires expertise in ASC 606, NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management, and SaaS industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary authority on ASC 606, drafting and maintaining revenue recognition policies, technical memos, and accounting position papers.
• Oversee the configuration and optimization of NetSuite ARM, ensuring revenue arrangements, plans, and schedules are accurate and aligned with contractual terms.
• Partner with Sales, Legal, and Sales Operations to review pending contracts, provide guidance on deal structuring, and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Lead the revenue close process, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and fluctuation analysis of deferred revenue and unbilled receivables.
• Manage the relationship with external auditors for revenue-related matters and ensure internal controls are effective.
• Provide insights into SaaS performance indicators such as ARR, Churn, and Net Retention.

Requirements

• Comprehensive understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition within the software and SaaS industry.
• Hands-on experience managing and/or auditing revenue within NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management module.
• 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a high-growth SaaS environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA license highly preferred.
• Ability to translate complex technical accounting standards into actionable business processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
