Salary: $285,000 - $352,500

Responsibilities

• Drive the long-term technical direction of Circle’s platform and core systems, shaping scalable architectures.
• Lead complex, cross-organizational engineering initiatives influencing architectural decisions.
• Set high standards for system reliability, performance, security, and developer experience.
• Mentor senior engineers and contribute to engineering standards, culture, and strategy.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including designing and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Proven experience in architecting and scaling platform systems supporting multiple products and teams.
• Ability to set long-term technical direction and make pragmatic, high-impact decisions.
• Experience operating critical, highly available systems with strong observability, reliability, and performance practices.
• Exceptional system design skills and ability to debug complex issues across services.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and influence on technical direction.
