Emergency Response Roster - Finance Officer

The Finance Officer role is part of an emergency response roster for a humanitarian organization focused on helping vulnerable children worldwide. It involves executing accounting processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting financial operations in emergency settings.

Responsibilities
- Review and verify financial source documents and payment packages.
- Ensure transactions comply with local legislation, organizational policies, and donor regulations.
- Maintain financial records and perform reconciliations.
- Assist in audit preparations and support.
- Prepare and submit local financial reports, including tax and social security filings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in humanitarian or emergency contexts.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, cash flow management, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in financial and procurement software, especially WVI Accounts Payables processes.
- Willingness to deploy on short notice to emergency settings.
Additional Information
- Position’s physical requirements include working long hours in stressful environments and traveling to field locations.
- Work environment may include insecure or natural disaster-prone areas with substandard facilities.
- Effective communication skills in English required; knowledge of other UN languages preferred.
