Engineering PhD - Assessment Specialist

Mercor is seeking an Engineering PhD - Assessment Specialist to author original engineering questions, rate question difficulty, and provide Chain-of-Thought solutions. The ideal candidate will have a PhD or doctoral candidate in Engineering or a closely related field, strong written English skills, and experience in graduate-level engineering principles and applied mathematics.

Location: Japan

Salary: $70k–$150k

Requirements

• PhD or doctoral candidate in Engineering or a closely related field
• Master's degree considered for candidates with exceptional depth in a specific subdomain
• Strong command of graduate-level engineering principles, applied mathematics, and domain-specific standards
• Professional engineering licensure (PE) or industry experience is a strong plus
• Excellent written English and ability to express complex ideas clearly and concisely
