Vectara is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to connect users with their product, support sales, professional services, and customer success, and help clients leverage AI technologies.

Location: Remote (US)

Responsibilities

Provide technical product expertise
Help with POCs
Assist customers with architecture and design decisions
Deliver executive presentations
Communicate Vectara capabilities
Build prototypes and demos
Oversee delivery of Professional Services engagements
Understand, evaluate and help pinpoint challenges within client applications
Help design and launch solutions for clients
Provide hands-on technical assistance to customers and prospects
Serve as a technical liaison between customers, partners, and internal teams
Track market evolution via customer feedback
Demonstrate Vectara products in various settings
Respond to RFIs/RFPs
Establish and maintain relationships with key technical staff and leadership

Requirements

5+ years of Sales Engineering experience supporting AI, ML, search, analytics, data engineering
5+ years of software development experience in AI, ML, search, analytics, data engineering
Experience selling to and servicing IT or Data organizations within large enterprises
Proficiency with REST services and at least one of Python, JavaScript, Java
Understanding of cloud-based platform architecture including SaaS, VPC, multi-tenancy, automation
Understanding of on-premise systems architecture including hardware, GPUs, virtualization, networking
Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
Experience building product narratives and pitches
Ability to communicate complex tech concepts simply
Willingness to travel up to 20%
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
