Hakka-China Interpreter

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring remote bilingual Hakka-China-English phone interpreters to provide interpretation services across various industries, supporting limited-English speakers and the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing. The role offers training, advancement opportunities, and a flexible work environment.

Location: Remote (United States)

Salary: $2.50 - $2.55 per minute

Responsibilities

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation professionally.
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during sessions, including emergency calls.
• Maintain punctuality and follow client instructions to meet expectations.
• Understand industry-specific protocol and terminology.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment.
• Remain on calls for extended periods if necessary, including high-stress or emotional calls.

Requirements

• Fluency in Hakka-China and English, with cultural competency.
• Ability to assess regional and accent differences.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to stay neutral and objective, even with sensitive subjects.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Ability to adapt to technology enhancements.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to read and write in requested languages is highly preferred.
