The role of the Implementation Consultant is a customer-facing project role responsible for implementing customer requirements using configuration tools, including data models, document templates, business rules, financial calculations, and workflows. The position requires strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Location: Philippines
Salary: $1,500 - $3,000 AUD/month
Responsibilities
- Elicit customer requirements using a range of tools and techniques.
- Critically evaluate requirements gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, deconstruct complex information, abstract general understanding, and distinguish user requests from true needs.
- Translate requirements into technical/functional requirements of the platform and prepare documentation for business processes and product configuration.
- Design and implement insurance products and claim data models based on customer requirements.
- Utilise tools within the platform to build user interfaces and user journeys for insurance products.
- Utilise scripting language within the platform to implement business rules and financial calculations.
- Prepare testing documentation and perform system and integration testing.
- Support customer testing.
- Analyse data conversion requirements and define data transformation and mapping.
- Facilitate discussions with stakeholders, prepare presentations and visual/written interpretations.
- Produce and manage client-facing documentation and maintain/update system and business process documents.
- Act as the customer liaison and represent the company on customer sites.
- Manage and resolve customer enquiries.
- Coordinate with internal teams and third parties for project delivery.
- Manage project scope, plan, and costs.
- Report on project progress and escalate issues.
- Identify project risks and mitigation techniques.
- Create and maintain project documentation.
- Collaborate with the development team to design new platform features.
- Provide knowledge and technical assistance to team members.
- Support company’s best practices.
- Comply with information security policies.
Requirements
- Understanding of the full software development project lifecycle.
- Experience as a business analyst or technical business analyst.
- Proficient in C++ and Java.
- Experience in general insurance related to policy and claims functions (highly desirable).
- Experience creating business requirements, process maps, and technical specifications.
- Experience working in waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Experience configuring large and complex software packages.
- Understanding of relational databases.
- Proven stakeholder management skills.
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
- Experience having difficult conversations with stakeholders.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, multitasking.
- Contributed outside immediate role.
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
- Configuration, scripting, and logic experience.
