Indirect Tax Specialist

The role is for an Indirect Tax Specialist responsible for managing complex tax regulations, ensuring compliance, and strategic tax planning. The position requires in-depth tax expertise, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to dynamic tax environments.

Responsibilities
- Provide written VAT advice in relation to purchase contracts
- Support in providing regular VAT/GST advice on day-to-day business
- Project management coordinate meetings with external and internal resources, track schedules, prepare slides, reports, and other documents
- Manage registrations and digital compliance of UK companies providing e-services to overseas clients
- Coordinate the tax aspects of accounting and broking system upgrades and integration of newly acquired business
- Provide IPT advice and manage the IPT communications prior experience is not essential
- Provide cross coverage for UK VAT compliance
- Engage in tax controversy and audit defence support
- Support in the preparation of the UK group VAT returns and assist with all auxiliary activities
- Take responsibility for the collation and correct classification of VAT data in the accounting system
- Monitor the correct invoicing process from a VAT perspective
- Support the broking and consulting teams to achieve their business goals by synchronising the VAT advice with business objectives
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of VAT return preparation for Partial Exempt companies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and research skills
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Proactively embrace technology to enhance and improve all aspects of the indirect tax function
- Excellent project management skills, including ability to organize files, project plans, data, etc
- Ability to effectively communicate indirect tax concepts and to collaborate outside of the indirect tax function
- General knowledge of key indirect tax related developments in Europe, Asia, and Middle East
